Manchester Township is currently searching for a Sewer Crew team member, a Public Works Department team member, and an Administrative Assistant.

The Sewer Crew position works with the Sewer Crew Lead to ensure that the township sanitary sewer lines and pump stations are well maintained, and in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.  The Sewer Crew team member may also assist with public works projects as needed.

Successful applicants must meet all the requirements of the position description including a high school education, or equivalent; possession of a current Pennsylvania Driver’s License; basic mechanical and electrical aptitude; and the ability to lift and move objects up to 40 – 50 pounds.  The Sewer Crew team member will also need to obtain the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Wastewater Certificate with the guidance of the Sewer Crew Leader.  This position also requires obtaining a CDL during employment at the township. 

This position will require working outside regular business hours including weekends as well as other weather and system emergencies. 

 
The full-time Public Works Department team member performs a variety of duties involved in the Public Works Department, which may include utilization of many crafts on the site of highway maintenance, park maintenance, sewer maintenance, or special projects as required.
 
Successful applicants must be available for after-hours emergencies and meet all the requirements of the job including a high school education, or equivalent, possession of a valid Pennsylvania motor vehicle operator’s license for the class of vehicles to be operated.  Knowledge of construction materials, principles, and methods preferred.  Ability to use and operate common construction and maintenance equipment is also helpful.  CDL is a requirement or will be obtained within initial probationary period.
 
 
The Administrative Assistant is the ambassador for the township with our residents, outside consultants, board volunteers, and staff both in-person and on the telephone.  This part-time position provides administrative and clerical support to the Township Manager and other staff as needed.
 
Applicants must have a minimum of two years of experience in administrative work, knowledge of general office procedures, excellent grammar and proofreading skills, and basic computer and software proficiency.  Microsoft Office competence is required as well as experience with websites and other software programs.  Candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills and prior customer service background.  Previous experience in a municipality or governmental organization is helpful.
